Hey Girl Hey!

I'm Javonne Crumby, creator of Lesbionyx-- A space for queer women of color. As a Black woman who loves women, I grew tired of the lack of representation and resources for women like me. So I created a platform for us and by us, because no one tells our stories like us!

More Than a Dancer: Meet Yo-E the Movement Artist

Yoerelis Apolinario, also known as Yo-E (pronounced Joey with a Y), is a Afro-latina movement artist from Tampa, FL. Most recently, Yo-E was a dancer on Taylor Swift’s Reputation Tour, which had over 50 shows in over 7 countries! She was thrusted into super-stardom in 2015 when she made it to the Top 14 on the hit TV dance competition So You Think You Can Dance. Surprisingly the year prior, she auditioned as a Hip-Hop dancer and was cut during auditions. Instead of letting that deter her from auditioning again, she trained intensely with her crew “The Flooridians” on hip-hop, popping, locking and voguing. Bottom line is Yo-E GETS BUSY in these streets!

Watch our filmed Interview of Yo-E as she dishes remaining grounded, her beautiful relationship with her girlfriend and her mother’s love and acceptance when she came out.
