Hey Girl Hey!

I'm Javonne Crumby, creator of Lesbionyx-- A space for queer women of color. As a Black woman who loves women, I grew tired of the lack of representation and resources for women like me. So I created a platform for us and by us, because no one tells our stories like us!

Janelle Monáe Blessed Us with Two Videos and We Are Losing It!

Janelle Monáe Blessed Us with Two Videos and We Are Losing It!

Janelle Monáe has blessed us with not one... but two killer videos or "emotion pictures" as the electric lady calls them for her upcoming album Dirty Computer. Her visual for Make Me Feel has us feeling some type of way! The video features the Dear White People star (and her rumored girlfriend) Tessa Thompson. Make Me Feel is adorned with vibrant neon colors, an 80's queer nightclub, and Monáe prancing back and forth between male and female eye candy. Her lyrics:

It's like I'm powerful with a little bit of tender
An emotional, sexual bender
Mess me up, yeah, but no one does it better
There's nothin' better
That's just the way you make me feel

It didn't take long for this hit to be #1 trending on YouTube and deemed a "bisexual anthem" among her fans.

Watch Make Me Feel below and revel in the queer of it all!

It doesn't stop there. Before we could catch our breath Monáe dropped a FIRE video for Django Jane on the same damn day! *faints*

She's sitting atop her throne with a squad of melanated ladies in Ghanian Kente Kufi caps and rocking her iconic pantsuits. Monáe delivers heavy hitting bar after bar that's just dripping in Black Girl Magic!

Black girl magic, y'all can't stand it
Y'all can't ban it, made out like a bandit
They been trying hard just to make us all vanish
I suggest they put a flag on a whole nother planet

And she kept going in...

We gave you life, we gave you birth
We gave you God, we gave you Earth
We fem the future, don't make it worse
You want the world? Well, what's it worth?

Did I mention she keeps going in?

And nigga, down dawg
Nigga move back, take a seat, you were not involved
And hit the mute button
Let the vagina have a monologue

Watch Django Jane for your dose of Black female empowerment!

Her album Dirty Computer drops April 27th and we can't WAIT!
