Hey Girl Hey!

I'm Javonne Crumby, creator of Lesbionyx-- A space for queer women of color. As a Black woman who loves women, I grew tired of the lack of representation and resources for women like me. So I created a platform for us and by us, because no one tells our stories like us!

3 Underrated Queens of Comedy to Put on Your Gaydar

Sometimes you just need a good laugh and these queer ladies are sure to give you more than a few.

1) Chaunté Wayans

@cwayans

Growing up being apart of the Wayan's clan Chaunté hated comedy. It wasn’t until 2003 after watching her cousin perform that she decided to do stand up. What I like most about Chaunté is she will have you laughing as soon as she walks on stage!

Check out a clip from her hilarious special on truTV's Laff Tracks below:

Some of y’all was looking at me a little confused, like who is this dude with titties coming to the stage?!”

2) Clear Liquor

@clearliquor

Clear Liquor is a Houston, Texas native. CEO of Nobodylaughed and video enthusiast. You will be doubled over in laughter watching her skits as her hilarious alter ego “Grandma Evelyn.”

“If ya little smart ass knew anything about Martin Luther King, you woulda marched yo ass to school this morning!”

3) Kia Comedy

@kiacomedy

Kia is an Atlanta comedian. Before comedy she was an English Language Arts Teacher. After performing her first stand-up routine,“Laugh your class off.” Kia fell in love with comedy and eventually left teaching to pursue comedy. Her humor includes topics of growing up lesbian, coming out, her wife, student loans and the queer community as a whole.

Check out Kia's stand-up compilation below:

“And there’s a part of me that wants to be treated like a lady. I’m not gone lie...it normally comes out right after dinner, when the bill come…”
